The Idiosyncratic Tales of Cosmic Bowling

The focus of project was bowling alley animations, focusing on the animations prevalent during the 90s, but still present today, the end result was an exhibition paying tribute to these small pieces of overlooked visual culture. Each work in the exhibition focuses on a theme prevalent throughout the animations. The exhibition highlights anthropomorphism in the collectible cards, also meant as a visual artifact to bring home from the exhibition, anachronism in the video work showcasing the vast array of animations, liminality present in the subject is boasted by a video work layering the background progressively atop eachother creating new compositions with every layer, the absurdity of the subject and a criticism of The Royal Academy itself is emphasized in the last work, with it's abstract visuals created by flattening 3d scans, refering to this indoctrination of applying theory to grant a subject more value, but ultimately losing understand of the subject in the proccess. (overview of exhibition at end) Thanks to Tofu Space for loaning me the exhibition space, Frederik Valdemar Kjeldgaard for taking photos of everything and Bastian Tange for sound.
